The Fotbollsallsvenskan 1953/54 was the 30th season of the highest Swedish football league . The season began on August 2, 1953 and ended on May 30, 1954.

GAIS won the Von Rosens Cup for the fourth time in the club's history 23 years after winning the Swedish championship for the last time . After the first three clubs in the league had to relegate to the second division , promoted Sandvikens IF , Jönköpings Södra IF and IF Elfsborg missed relegation.

    Karl-Alfred Jacobsson of GAIS became the first player in the history of the league to be top scorer three times in a row. The striker needed 21 goals this season to defend his title.
