Fotbollsallsvenskan 1980

The 1981 Fotbollsallsvenskan was the 57th season of the top Swedish football league . The Swedish championship was played between April 27 and October 7, 1981.

Last year's champions Östers IF dominated the league and won the Von Rosens Cup for the fourth time in the club's history as the Swedish national champion . In the relegation introduced for the first time, IF Elfsborg and Kalmar FF had to compete, but could each receive the class. As direct relegated to Division 2 , IFK Sundsvall and Djurgårdens IF were determined at the end of the season . Since the league was reduced to twelve teams, there were no promoted teams.
