The Fotbollsallsvenskan 1962 was the 38th season of the top Swedish football league . Between April 15 and October 21, 1962, the Swedish football champions were played.

Last year's runner-up IFK Norrköping won the championship title and won the Von Rosens Cup for the tenth time in twenty years . Last year's champion IF Elfsborg , who had surprisingly won the title as a newcomer, only achieved seventh place. Newcomer Högadals IS had to relegate directly and was accompanied by IFK Malmö to Division 2 .
