The Fotbollsallsvenskan 1964 was the 40th season of the top Swedish football league . Between April 12 and October 25, 1964, the Swedish football champions were played in it.

After a five-year break, Djurgårdens IF won the Von Rosens Cup as Sweden's champion for the seventh time and the Swedish championship title as the Allsvenskan winner for the third time. In a title triathlon on the last day of the match, a penalty goal by DIF player Bernt Andersson and the one goal better goal difference compared to the same point and match opponent Malmö FF decided in favor of the club from Stockholm in the final minute . Örgryte IS was also tied on points, but had a significantly worse goal difference. The newly promoted IFK Eskilstuna and GAIS occupied the two relegation places and had to relegate directly back to Division 2 .
