The 1980 Fotbollsallsvenskan was the 56th season of the highest Swedish football league . The Swedish championship was played between April 13 and October 26, 1980.

For the third time in the club's history, Östers IF won the Von Rosens Cup as the Swedish national champion . The newly promoted Mjällby AIF had to relegate directly as the bottom of the table. Landskrona BoIS accompanied the club into Division 2 .
