Fotbollsallsvenskan 1994

The 1995 Fotbollsallsvenskan was the 71st season of the top Swedish football league . Between April 9 and October 28, 1995, the 14 first division teams competed against each other in a home and away game to play the Von Rosens Cup for the Swedish national champions.

Season course

After last year's champion IFK Göteborg 's team, supervised by Roger Gustafsson , botched their start of the season with just one point from the first three games of the season, they were able to intervene in the championship race in the further course of the season, especially due to their home strength - nine of the 13 games at Gamla Ullevi were won. Before the penultimate match day, the team around players like Jonas Olsson , Mats Lilienberg , Thomas Ravelli , Jesper Blomqvist , Stefan Lindqvist and Magnus Erlingmark were on par with Helsingborgs IF . With a draw at Hammarby IF and a 2-0 win over Trelleborgs FF on the last day of the match, the Gothenburg club played out a four-point lead as the competitor lost their last two games against Örebro SK and Hammarby IF.

Behind them Halmstads BK and Malmö FF placed in the UEFA Cup . The club from Malmö only outstripped Örebro SK with a 1-1 draw against Örgryte IS on the last day of the match, who had to admit defeat with a 2-0 defeat at AIK Solna .

In the lower part of the table, the Gothenburg club Västra Frölunda IF was determined to be relegated early on. Therefore, on the last day of the match, only 436 spectators came to the 5: 1 win over IFK Norrköping - a minus record for the season. Before that, Hammarby IF had a duel with IFK Norrköping, Trelleborgs FF, Östers IF , Degerfors IF and AIK for another relegation place and the two relegation places. After Hammarby IF was determined to be another direct relegation on the penultimate matchday, Östers IF and IFK Norrköping could not move away from the relegation places on the last matchday due to respective defeats.

In the relegation games IFK Norrköping met GAIS Göteborg and prevailed after a 1-1 draw at the start with a 1-0 home win. The Östers IF could also hold the class, as Gefle IF could be defeated in both games 1-0 and 3-0 respectively.
