Bernt Andersson (1964)

Bernt Andersson (born September 5, 1933 - January 6, 2020 ) was a Swedish football player . With Djurgårdens IF he won the Swedish championship three times.

Career

Andersson played for Djurgårdens IF in the Allsvenskan from the beginning of the 1950s . In the season 1954/55 he dominated the Swedish championship with the team at the side of Arne Arvidsson , Gösta Sandberg and Sigvard Parling , with a four point lead Halmstads BK was distanced as runner-up. After two third and one fifth place in the table, he repeated the championship win with the team in 1959. However, the triumph was followed by a sudden crash, as the title holder, he rose with the club in the second division. After the direct promotion, the team established itself directly in the top third of the table. In the season 1964 it came to one of the most exciting championship duels when Djurgårdens IF started with two points behind Malmö FF tied with Örgryte IS in the last game day. While Malmö FF lost their game with a 3-0 defeat, DIF had caught up with MFF on point and on goal due to a 3-1 lead until the 90th minute of the game. With a penalty goal in injury time, Andersson shot his club to win the championship again. When he won the title in 1966, he was no longer part of the championship team.
