Premiership 2013/14

The Scottish Premiership in 2014/15 was the second edition of the highest Scottish football division since it was founded in 2013. It was also the 118th edition of the highest division within the Scottish Football League in which the Scottish champions were determined. The league was run by the Scottish Football Association and began on August 9, 2014 and ended with the 38th matchday in May 2015. After the regular season, which was referred to as the 1st round and in which all teams compete against each other three times, the final 2nd round, which was divided into two groups with championship and relegation play-offs . The eleventh place in the Premiership then met the second, third and fourth of the championship , with which it came to relegation games .

As promoters from last year's championship , FC Dundee and Hamilton Academical took part in the Premiership . Hamilton Academical prevailed in the relegation against Hibernian Edinburgh . The Hibs followed the direct relegated Heart of Midlothian in the championship . For the first time in 124 years, not a single club from the Scottish capital Edinburgh is playing in the first division. Celtic Glasgow started the season as defending champions .

The championship won for the 46th time in the club's history Celtic Glasgow. The decisive factor was a 5-0 home win on Matchday 35 by Celtic over Dundee FC , and the simultaneous defeat of the pursuer, Aberdeen FC, who lost to Dundee United .

The Bhoys qualified as champions for the following Champions League season 2015/16 . Second, third and fourth-placed Aberdeen FC, Inverness Caledonian Thistle (also cup winners ) and St. Johnstone FC qualified for the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League . The FC Motherwell played in the relegation against the Rangers and retained after two wins the game class. The last placed FC St. Mirren relegated straight to the championship .

Relegation

Participants in the relegation games for a place for the following Scottish Premiership season 2015/16 are Hibernian Edinburgh , the Glasgow Rangers and Queen of the South from this year's championship . In addition, there is the eleven-placed team from this year's Premiership, FC Motherwell . The winner of each round is determined in two games, whereby in the first round the teams that were in 3rd and 4th place at the end of the championship season met. After that, the winner of this game plays in the second round against the second-placed team from the championship. The last round will be played between the 11th place from the Premiership and the winner of the second round. The winner of the third round receives a place for the new season of the Premiership.
