Callum McGregor (born June 14, 1993 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football player . The midfielder plays for Celtic Glasgow in the Scottish Premiership and in the Scottish national team .
Career
society
Callum McGregor was born in the Scottish city of Glasgow , where he began his football career with Celtic FC . By 2012, McGregor played in the Youth Academy of Celtic . In his final year, which McGregor should complete in the junior division of Celtic , he managed a hat trick in the successful final of the Scottish Youth Cup against Queen of the South , which was played in Hampden Park . In August 2013 McGregor was loaned to the English third division club Notts County until January 2014 . In January the loan was extended until the end of the season. For Notts County McGregor completed 37 of 46 possible league games and scored 12 goals. He was the team's top scorer ahead of strikers Ronan Murray , James Spencer and Jack Grealish and defender Alan Sheehan . For the 2014/15 season he returned to his home club, where he tried to recommend himself under the new team manager Ronny Deila . For Celtic , McGregor scored the winning goal in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League against KR Reykjavík , in the first competitive game. In the next two rounds he was able to score two more goals against Legia Warsaw and NK Maribor . His league game debut in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic (before the loan to Notts County he remained without use for Glasgow in the league) he gave against FC St. Johnstone on the 2nd match day; in the 84th minute he was also able to score a goal. In August 2014, McGregor extended his contract with the Bhoys for another five years.
National team
Callum McGregor has played for Scotland internationally since 2008. On April 1, 2008 he made his debut in the U-15 national team against Belgium. In the same year McGregor came in the following U-16 to his debut against the junior selection from Wales. The captain midfielder scored as many goals in eight games for the U-17 between 2009 and 2010, three against Malta alone. Further assignments followed from 2010 in the U-19 and U-20 and from 2013 in the U-21 . In September 2014 he was called up for the first time by national coach Gordon Strachan for the Scottish national soccer team . It wasn't until three years later that he made his debut for Scotland. On November 9, 2017, he played for the first time in the senior team against the Netherlands in Aberdeen .
