Tomas Petar "Tom" Rogic (born December 16, 1992 in Canberra ) is an Australian football and futsal player . He has been under contract with the Scottish club Celtic Glasgow since 2013 .

Career

Tom Rogic, who was born in 1992 in Griffith , a district of the Australian capital Canberra, began his career at Tuggeranong United. He played for the club from the eponymous district of the planned capital from 2007 to 2009 before studying at the Australian National University . He played in the ACT Premier League (Australian Capital Territory Premier League) for the state university soccer team .

In January 2012, Rogic signed a contract with the Central Coast Mariners from the A-League . He made his professional debut against Adelaide United on January 21, 2012. A month later, Rogic was able to achieve the first goal as a professional in the game against Melbourne Victory . In January 2013 he moved to Celtic Glasgow for a transfer to Scotland . At his new club he was able to celebrate his first successes with two wins in the Scottish Cup and in the championship . At the beginning of 2014, Rogic was awarded to Melbourne Victory in order to recommend himself for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil and to collect match practice.

National team

From 2010 to 2011 Rogic played in the Australian national futsal team , with which he took part in the 2010 Asian Cup. In 2012, Rogic made his debut under German coach Holger Osieck in the Socceroos national soccer team in the international match against South Korea . In the 2014 FIFA World Cup he was not in the squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, in Australia in the group stage after two defeats against France and Peru and a draw against Denmark was eliminated in the preliminary round, does.
