Patryk Klimala (born August 5, 1998 in Świdnica ) is a Polish football player . He is under contract with Celtic Glasgow in the Scottish Premiership and is a Polish U21 international.

Career

society

Patryk Klimala began his career in Żarów about twelve kilometers north of Schweidnitz. He played for the club until 2012 when it went on to Lechia Dzierżoniów. From here, Klimala moved to the youth boarding school of Legia Warsaw in 2014 . Legia loaned the attacker back to Lower Silesia from 2015 to 2016 to his previous club from Dzierżoniów . Jagiellonia Białystok signed Klimala in July 2016 . There he played in the U19 team in the first few months. On September 25, 2016 he made his professional debut for the club in the Ekstraklasa against Korona Kielce . In the further course of the season he came to two more appearances as a substitute. In the 2017/18 season he was awarded to the Polish second division club Wigry Suwałki . In 27 games he scored 13 goals making him the top scorer in the Suwałki team. Behind Mateusz Machaj ( Chrobry Głogów ) and Szymon Lewicki ( Zagłębie Sosnowiec ) he was the third best scorer in the league. After his return, he made a total of 22 league games for Białystok in the 2018/19 season and scored one goal. In the same year he reached the final of the Polish Cup with the club . In the 1-0 loss to Lechia Gdańsk , Klimala played for the entire 90 minutes. In the first part of the 2019/20 season , he scored seven goals in 17 games.

In January 2020, Klimala moved to Scotland to Celtic Glasgow for a transfer fee of £ 3.5 million .

National team

Patryk Klimala has been playing in the junior national teams of Poland since 2016. He made his U19 debut in November 2016 against Slovakia . In 2018 and 2019 he played three times for the U20 . He scored a goal in a 3-1 defeat in the international match against England . On March 26, 2019, the striker made his debut in the Polish U21 national team against Serbia .
