Premiership 2018/19

The Scottish Premiership in 2019/20 was the seventh event as the highest Scottish men's soccer division under this name. The league was officially played as the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership . It was also the 123rd edition of the top football division within the Scottish Football League , in which the Scottish champions were determined. The season started on August 3, 2019 and should end with the 38th matchday on May 17, 2020. There was a winter break between December 30, 2019 and January 17, 2020.

After the regular season, which was designated as the 1st round and in which all teams compete against each other three times, the final 2nd round should begin, which should be divided into two groups of the championship and relegation play-offs . The eleventh place in the Premiership should then play in relegation games against the second, third and fourth placed in the second-rate Scottish Championship . The bottom of the table was relegated directly.

As a climber from last year's championship , Ross County took part in the Premiership . The defending champion was Celtic Glasgow .

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , it was decided on March 13, 2020 to interrupt the season. On April 9, 2020, the SFL decided to suspend the season until June 10. For the time being, only the Premiership was affected by the decision. A decision was made on April 10th to cancel the leagues below the first division. The lower tier leagues in Scotland were declared closed in April 2020. The Premiership followed with the termination of the season on May 18, 2020.

Celtic Glasgow was crowned champions ahead of time, winning the championship for the 51st time in the club's history. It was also the ninth title in a row. As champions, Celtic qualified for the following 2020/21 Champions League season . The Glasgow Rangers , the FC Motherwell and Aberdeen FC qualified for the Europa League . Celtic won the League Cup that same season .

Heart of Midlothian had to relegate to the 2nd division. The relegation relegation was omitted.

Bottom of the table

Since Glasgow Rangers and FC St. Johnstone had played one game less than the other participants, a quotient rule was necessary to determine the final table. The points were divided by the number of games played. Celtic Glasgow was declared champion, and Heart of Midlothian was declared relegated. In the event of a tie between FC St. Mirren and Ross County, the goal difference was used.
