The Almondvale Stadium (also called The Vale for short ) is a football stadium in Livingston , Scotland . Livingston FC's venue has 10,006 seats. It is currently sponsored by the Tony Macaroni Arena .

history

Originally, Livingston FC was based in Edinburgh under the name FC Meadowbank Thistle . In 1995, the club and Livingston Development Corporation agreed to move and build a new venue. The facility was opened under the name City Stadium , followed by the name West Lothian Courier Stadium and, until 2010, the name Almondvale Stadium . The building consists of a horseshoe-shaped grandstand row from one side of the back gate to the other side. Only the corners of the West Stand main grandstand remained open. A building was erected in the left corner of the tier. The tiers are fully equipped with plastic seats in the club colors yellow and black. The playing field made of natural grass has underfloor heating . The seats on the North Stand and the adjacent northeast corner are available for guest fans .

Livingston FC rents the stadium from West Lothian Council every year . When the club was promoted to the first Scottish league , the stadium was adapted to the requirements of the top division. The association offers rooms and catering for various occasions .

Sponsor names

As of May 2010, the stadium was sponsored by the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium . The contract on naming rights lasted for three years until the end of the 2012/13 season. In June 2013, the Energy Assets Group became the new main sponsor of Livingston FC for three years. This gave the stadium the name Energy Assets Arena . In September 2015 the stadium was given a new name. The restaurant chain Tony Macaroni , which specializes in Italian cuisine , acquired the rights to the venue and changed the name to Tony Macaroni Arena . However, fans and supporters continue to refer to it as Almondvale Stadium, or The Vale for short .

Other use

The Scottish national football team of women and U21 men , the U19 and the U17 Junior Scotland contributed Games in the stadium from Livingston.

Attendance record

The attendance record dates back to 2001 when Livingston FC faced Glasgow Rangers on October 27th . The Scottish Premier League game was watched by 10,112 spectators.
