Series A 2018/19

The Serie A 2019/20 was the 88th season of the highest Italian league for football men. It opened on August 24, 2019 and instead of ending as planned on May 31, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it only ended with the last games on August 2, 2020.

Game operations during the COVID-19 pandemic

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy during the global COVID-19 pandemic , it was decided, with the consent of the state government, to hold several games in closed circuit in February and March 2020. In addition, several games had to be postponed.

On March 9, the association and government finally announced that they would suspend gaming until further notice. On June 20, he was resumed with the catch-up games of the 25th match day, as in many other leagues in Europe without spectators. If a player on one team had tested positive for COVID-19, this would have led to a 14-day quarantine for the entire team.
