Adrien Rabiot (born April 3, 1995 in Saint-Maurice ) is a French football player who has played as a midfielder for the Italian record champions Juventus Turin in Serie A since 2019 .

Career

societies

Rabiot began playing football in October 2001 in the offspring of the US Créteil , which was renamed in 2002 through a merger with Lusitanos de Saint-Maur in US Créteil Lusitanos. In 2003 he moved to UJA Alfortville . After just one year he returned to US Créteil-Lusitanos. From there, Rabiot moved to the Manchester City youth team in 2008 . A short time later he went back to the US Créteil-Lusitanos. After only one year he was drawn to the youth team at FC Pau . In 2010 he then moved to Paris Saint-Germain .

For the 2012/13 season Rabiot signed his first professional contract with a term until June 30, 2015 and moved up to the professional squad. He made his professional debut on August 26, 2012, when he was called up in the starting eleven on matchday three against Girondins Bordeaux . He made his European debut on November 6, 2012 when he was also in the starting eleven in the Champions League group game against Dinamo Zagreb . On January 31, 2013 Rabiot was loaned to Toulouse FC until the end of the season.

After his contract in Paris had expired, Rabiot moved to Juventus Turin in the Italian Serie A for the 2019/20 season on a free transfer .

National team

On October 26, 2010, Rabiot made his debut for France's U-16s when he was in the starting eleven in the 2-1 loss to the Netherlands . He made his second and last game for this age group four days later in a 4-0 win over Portugal . He came on in the 70th minute for Wylan Cyprien . On September 27, 2011 Rabiot made his debut for the U-17 national team of the French . In the 0-0 win against Ukraine , he came on in the 67th minute for Anthony Martial . For the U-17 he was used in five games, where he did not succeed in scoring. He made his last game on February 6, 2012 against England .

On September 6, 2012, Rabiot came to his only appearance for the U-18 national team when he was in the starting eleven in the 4-1 win against Austria . He managed the goal to make it 1-0. On October 11, 2012, Rabiot made his debut for the French U-19 national team . In the 2-1 win in qualifying for the U-19 European Championship 2013 against Israel , he was in the starting eleven of coach Francis Smerecki .

On August 13, 2013, at the age of only 18, Rabiot had his first appearance in the French U-21 national team in the game against Germany in Freiburg (0-0).

Rabiot was part of the extended squad of the senior national team for the 2016 European Championship , but ultimately did not take part in the tournament. Rabiot made his international debut for the senior team on November 15, 2016 in a game against Ivory Coast (0-0). He was put on the list of possible successors for the 2018 World Cup in Russia by national coach Didier Deschamps . However, he refused, which led to a controversy in the run-up to the tournament in the environment of the eventual world champion.
