The Pau Football Club is a French football club from Pau , the capital of the southwestern French department Pyrénées-Atlantiques .
It was founded in 1904 as Bleuets de Notre-Dame de Pau and played in the Catholic football association until 1959 ( see football in France # early years ). Then the football department was spun off from the club, joined the French association FFF as FC Pau and adopted its current name in 1995.
The club colors are yellow and blue; the league team plays at the Stade du Hameau, which has a capacity of 18,324 seats.
League affiliation
Pau is one of the few clubs in France's three professional leagues that has never had professional status. In Division 1 (renamed Ligue 1 since 2002 ) Pau has not yet been represented. Since the 2016/17 season he has been competing in the third-class National Championships .
