Stade Laval (in full: Stade Lavallois Mayenne Football Club ) is a French football club from Laval , the capital of the Mayenne department .

It was founded in 1902 under the name Stade Lavallois ; In 1992 the club took on its current name. The club colors are black and orange; the league team plays in the Stade Francis-Le Basser , which has a capacity of 18,739 seats (10,739 seats).

The club's president is Philippe Jan; the first team had been coached by Philippe Hinschberger since July 2007 , before the club dismissed him at the end of February 2014 and replaced him with assistant coach Denis Zanko . (As of March 2014)

League affiliation

Stade Laval only made the transition from amateur to professional status in the 1970s, but was one of the leading teams in France, especially in the early 1980s. The club played first-class ( Division 1 , renamed Ligue 1 since 2002 ) from 1976 to 1989.
