François Omam-Biyik (born May 21, 1966 in Sackbayémé ) is a former football player from Cameroon , who also has French citizenship .
National team
During his active career he participated with the Cameroonian national soccer team in the soccer world championships in 1990 , 1994 and 1998 . He made 63 appearances for Cameroon .
One of the greatest moments of his career was his goal for Cameroon's 1-0 win against reigning world champions Argentina in the opening game of the 1990 World Cup in Italy. At the Football World Cup in 1994 he also scored a goal in the preliminary round match against Sweden .
Coaching career
In August 2010, Omam-Biyik was appointed assistant coach to the Spaniard Javier Clemente, who looks after the Cameroonian national football team . In addition, he has been coaching the Cameroonian B national team since December 2010.
Private
François Omam-Biyik is the half-brother of the former Cameroonian international André Kana-Biyik , the father of Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik and the Mexican U-17 international Emilio Omam-Biyik, and a cousin of the former Cameroonian U-20 international Francis Eliezer Grandma.

In 1987 and 1991, he came third in the election for Africa's Footballer of the Year .
