André Kana-Biyik (born September 1, 1965 in Sackbayémé , Cameroon ) is a former Cameroonian football player .

Club career

He started his career as an amateur at Union Douala . In 1986 he switched to the professional field at Diamant Yaoundé , from where he made the leap to Ligue 1 to FC Metz in 1988 . From 1990 to 1994 he played at AC Le Havre , where he ended his playing career.

National player

Kana-Biyik took part in four African football championships . In 1986 he reached the final against Egypt with Cameroon . He missed the decisive penalty in the penalty shoot-out. In 1988 he and his team won the competition. Further participation ended in the preliminary round in 1990 and in 4th place in 1992 .

At the football World Cup in 1990 , the line-up included the " indomitable lions " with whom he advanced to the quarter-finals. For the soccer world championship in 1994 he was also appointed to the squad and was used in the last group game in the 1: 6 defeat against Russia .

Between 1986 and 1994 he played 42 international matches in which he scored eight goals.
