Danilo (born July 15, 1991 in Bicas , Minas Gerais ; real name Danilo Luiz da Silva ) is a Brazilian soccer player who has been under contract with Juventus Turin since the beginning of August 2019 .
Career
society
Danilo began his career at América Mineiro , where he was promoted to the senior squad in January 2009. In July 2010 he moved to FC Santos . Here he made his debut on the 10th day of the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol on July 21, 2010 in the game against Athletico Paranaense . With his club he won the 2011 Copa Libertadores .
In summer 2011 he moved to FC Porto . He signed a five-year contract in Porto until June 30, 2016 and cost around 13 million euros. It was the second most expensive transfer in the Portuguese league to date. He was initially loaned to FC Santos until the end of the year and joined his new team in January 2012.
For the 2015/16 season , Danilo moved to Spanish record champions Real Madrid for 31.5 million euros , with whom he received a six-year contract until June 30, 2021. With the Madrilenians, Danilo won two Champions League titles and a championship in two years. However, he usually did not get beyond the role of the back-up of Dani Carvajal .
For the 2017/18 season , Danilo moved to Manchester City in the Premier League . He signed a five-year contract until June 30, 2022.
At the beginning of August 2019, Danilo moved to the Italian Serie A at Juventus Turin for 37 million euros ; in return, João Cancelo moved to Manchester City for 65 million euros. Danilo signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2024.
National team
Danilo came to the Brazilian U20 junior national team to eight appearances and scored one goal. In 2011 he was in the squad for the U20 South American Championship and the U20 World Championship in Colombia in 2011 . In both tournaments he was able to win the title with his team.
In 2012 he took part with the Olympic team at the Olympic Games in London , where Brazil wanted to win the gold medal for the first time. In the final, however, Brazil had to admit defeat to the Mexican team 1: 2 . Danilo played in the first four games and scored the first goal in the preliminary round in a 3-0 win against New Zealand.
