The Serie A 1982/83 was the 51th season in the top Italian football -Spielklasse of Lords. It began on September 12, 1982 and ended on May 15, 1983. Hellas Verona , Pisa SC and Sampdoria Genua from Serie B were promoted.

AS Roma ended the season as champions and succeeded Juventus Turin . The Roma qualified for the European Cup . Inter Milan and Hellas Verona qualified for the UEFA Cup . Juventus Turin secured participation in the European Cup Winners' Cup of the following year through Coppa Italia . Relegated to Serie B had to Cagliari Calcio , the AC Cesena and US Catanzaro .
