Klaus Berggreen (born February 3, 1958 in Virum ) is a former Danish football player .

Career

Berggreen began his playing career at the age of six with Lyngby BK . In 1975 he came to the first team and shot them in the first division in 1979. In the same year he made his debut in the Danish selection.

In 1982 the midfielder moved to Italy for Pisa Calcio . In 1984 he was relegated with Pisa from Serie A and played with the men from Tuscany until 1986 . In 1985 he rose again with his team. During his time in Pisa he was also appointed to the Danish squad for the 1984 European Championship in France . Berggreen made it to the semifinals with the Danes. He played four times, scored one goal and received a red card. He was also called up for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico , where Denmark lost to Spain in the round of 16. Berggreen played three times and got a yellow card.

After the World Cup, he moved on within Italy. The midfielder went to AS Roma . After only one season in the Eternal City, he moved to Torino Calcio , where he also stayed for only one year. In 1988 he was appointed to the Danish squad for the 1988 European Championship in Germany , where the Danes failed in the group stage. Berggreen was used twice. After the EM he ended his career in the national team. At that point, he was used for his home country 46 times and scored five goals.

In 1988 he returned to Denmark and signed with his home club Lyngby BK . After retiring, he was the sports director of Lyngby from 1990 to 1992, and Berggreen opened a fashion store.
