The Serie A 2012/13 was the 81st season in the top Italian football -Spielklasse of Lords. First and second place automatically qualified for the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League , while third place played in qualifying for the Champions League. Fourth and fifth places qualified for the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League .

The game series began with the game between Fiorentina and Udinese Calcio on August 25, 2012 and ended with the 38th matchday on May 19, 2013 . The winter break interrupted the game from December 23rd to January 4th for 13 days.

• Compared to the 2011/12 season , there has been a change in the rules for substitutes : since the start of the season, in all Italian football competitions , i.e. in Serie A , Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana , there are no longer only seven substitutes on the score sheet, but rather twelve, so that the squad for a game similar to a World Cup or European Championship is increased to a total of 23 players.
