In the club

Fabrizio Miccoli gained his first professional experience at Casarano Calcio in the C1 series . In 1998 he moved to Ternana Calcio in Serie B , where he was a regular player and because of his good performance attracted the attention of the scouts of Italian top clubs.

Finally, in 2002 , Juventus Turin secured the services of Talentes. For the time being, Miccoli was loaned to AC Perugia . There he convinced both as a goal scorer and as a preparer, so that he was allowed to play for Juventus Turin in the following season . However, he could not prevail there sustainably against the strikers Alessandro Del Piero , David Trezeguet and Marco Di Vaio , so that he went to AC Florence for the 2004/05 season . There Miccoli was instrumental in ensuring that the club could hold in Serie A. After the season, Juventus offered the Fiorentina Miccoli for sale, but it was too expensive for the Florentine officials. For the seasons 2005/06 and 2006/07 Fabrizio Miccoli was loaned to the Portuguese top club Benfica Lisbon , with whom he was third in the Primeira Liga . At Benfica Lisbon he also became a crowd favorite.

Miccoli returned to Italy for the 2007/08 season. He dissolved his contract with the Turinese completely and moved to the US Palermo . In his first year for the Sicilian club, he scored eight goals in 22 Serie A games. His most successful season so far was the 2009/10 season , in which he scored 19 goals. It also aroused the interest of foreign clubs. One of them was Birmingham City , but Miccoli gratefully declined. A year later Miccoli justified staying in Palermo and rejecting the offer at a press conference after a game against US Lecce with the following words: “ I cannot leave Palermo because I am the captain and a role model for my teammates. If I had wanted to leave Palermo, I would have done it in the summer and moved to Birmingham. I would have taken care of that with a signature. “On November 24, 2012, Miccoli scored his 100th Serie A goal in a 3-1 win over Catania Calcio .

After six years and over 160 games in Palermo, Miccoli moved to US Lecce in the summer of 2013 , of which he has been a fan since childhood.
