The Lotto Sport Italia S.pA is an Italian sportswear manufacturer based in Trevignano in the province of Treviso . The company's brands are Lotto, Lotto Leggenda, Lotto Works, Etonic International and Le DD.

history

The company was founded in June 1973 by the Caberlotto family, who also owned the Italian football team FBC Treviso . Tennis shoes made the start, followed by models for basketball, volleyball, athletics and soccer. Some time later the production of sportswear was added. In the first ten years Lotto concentrated on the Italian market and established itself primarily in tennis.

Over time, Lotto has signed equipment deals with internationally famous players and teams, especially in tennis and soccer. Internationally, the brand continued to grow rapidly, and ten years later Lotto was represented in more than 60 countries.

In June 1999, a group of local business people who were already very active in the sports sector took over the company. It was led by Andrea Tomat , who took over the role of President and CEO of the new company, which was henceforth called Lotto-Sport Italia SpA.

In November 2006, Lotto acquired the company Etonic, one of the leading American manufacturers of running, golf, bowling and walking shoes, bringing the number of brands to five. Standing side by side with the lottery:

  • Lotto Leggenda , a collection of lifestyle articles for discerning target groups and selected sales partners
  • Lotto Works , a line of safety clothing, shoes and accessories
  • Le DD , a brand with a strongly design-oriented range of shoes
  • Etonic

distribution

Lotto products are now sold in 80 countries through independent sports shops, specialist shops and department stores with large sports departments. Particular importance is attached to a clearly structured retail strategy in Italy and abroad, through branded specialty stores (flagship stores, street stores, factory outlets) as well as business corners and shop-in-shops. Under the Lotto trademark, underwear, paper goods, cosmetics and watches are also manufactured and sold under license from third-party companies.

Sponsorship

In the course of their careers, numerous individual athletes as well as teams were equipped by Lotto. This tradition was continued in football with players like Luca Toni , Clarence Seedorf and Simone Perrotta . Andrij Shevchenko is one of the most famous players of the “modern era” , after whom the “Sheva 7 Extrema” football shoe and the “Sheva Elite” shoe are named. In Germany, Lotto equipped the Bundesliga soccer club Borussia Mönchengladbach from 2003 to 2013 . 1899 Hoffenheim has been equipped by the Italian company since the 2014/15 season, and FSV Mainz since the 2015/2016 season .
