Kevin Krawietz (born January 24, 1992 in Coburg ) is a German tennis player . He won the 2019 French Open in men's doubles with Andreas Mies .

Career

So far, he has celebrated four single and 27 double victories on the Future Tour. On the ATP Challenger Tour , he won his first title in the doubles competition in Meknes in 2015 .

At the age of 17, Krawietz won the junior doubles at the Wimbledon Championships 2009 together with Pierre-Hugues Herbert .

His first appearance on the ATP World Tour took place in 2009 at the International German Open Hamburg , where he received a wildcard in singles and doubles together with Nils Langer . However, he was eliminated in both competitions in the first round. His first more successful appearances on the ATP World Tour came in 2018 when he and Andreas Mies had to admit defeat to eventual tournament winners Mike Bryan and Jack Sock in the men's doubles at the Wimbledon Championships . In 2018, after winning seven titles on the ATP Challenger Tour , Krawietz ended 2018 for the first time in the top 100 with number 71 in doubles.

At the beginning of 2019, Krawietz reached the round of 16 in the doubles competition at the Australian Open together with Nikola Mektić . He won his first title on the ATP Tour on February 17, 2019 at the New York Open , when he won the final with Andreas Mies against the duo Santiago González and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in straight sets. At the French Open , Krawietz and Mies won the title as an unset pair, with which they celebrated the first German double success since 1937 at the French Open . In October they reached the semi-finals at the US Open and secured their third joint title in Antwerp . They qualified for the ATP Finals , in which they did not get beyond that after a victory in the group stage. In the world rankings, he reached his previous career high on November 4, 2019 with seventh place. In November, Krawietz, again alongside Andreas Mies, made his debut for the German Davis Cup team .

He plays in the tennis Bundesliga for the TC Großhesselohe .
