The TC Großhesselohe is a tennis club from Pullach in Upper Bavaria .

history

The club was founded on March 11, 1925 as Sportparkgesellschaft Großhesselohe . The foundation goes back, among others, to F. Clemens Schiffer, who made the site available at the time. The facility was primarily intended to serve tennis, but those responsible also wanted to establish other sports. After the first two places had been built, around 250 members were already registered in the autumn of the year it was founded.

The club experienced difficult times in the wake of the global economic crisis , when only 30 members were now registered. The Second World War also left its mark. After being destroyed by Allied bombs, the club initially disbanded before re-establishing itself in 1946.

In 1985 the then owner Felix Wöllner sold the system to a third party. Despite the problematic financing, the then chairman managed to acquire the club area for the club so that it was available to members again. As early as 1986, the facility was expanded to include a tennis hall and a clubhouse.

Teams

Men's

The men's team of the TC Großhesselohe achieved the greatest fame to this day. In 1983 she played for the first time in the 1st Bundesliga. She was also well represented from 1985 to 1989, and in the 1986/87 season she was second at the German team championships. After three years of abstinence, the team rose again for the 1993 season and was able to stay in the league until 1995. In the new century, men were only represented in the Bundesliga in 2003. Since relegation, the team has played in the 2nd Bundesliga again. In 2018 , they were once again promoted to 1st class, which they will belong to again from 2019 .

Ladies

The greatest successes were celebrated in the 1990s when the team became German champions in 1994, German runner-up in 1995 and Bavarian team champions in 1998. In 2004 and 2005, and from 2007 to 2009, the women played in the 2nd Bundesliga. They are currently playing in the third-class regional league south-east. There is now only one professional player in the squad.
