Pfaffenfang is a part of the municipality Altenthann in the Upper Palatinate district of Regensburg ( Bavaria ).

Geographical location

Pfaffenfang is located in the Regensburg region, about 2.5 kilometers northeast of Altenthann.

Pfaffenfang was first mentioned in writing in 1466 when Wolfgang Zenger donated part of the large and small tithe from Pfaffenfang to the St. Michaelis altar in Altenthann. When Wiguläus Zenger received Pfaffenfang with two Sölden , one estate and two properties from his father Urban Zenger in 1498, the place became part of the Hofmark Adlmannstein . 1560 two Sölden and the Limpeter Gut are listed in Pfaffenfang. Later Pfaffenfang was defeated to rule Siegenstein (Mitterfels court) of the Regensburg bishopric .

The community Pfaff catch was by the Bavarian Gemeindeedikt founded by the 1818th It belonged to the jurisdiction of the ruling court of Wörth of the Princes of Thurn and Taxis and, in addition to Pfaffenfang, included the places Bachmühle, Gottesberg, Haid, Hörglhof, Orhalm, Pömerlmühl, Röhren (Vorderröhren), Sägmühle, Studenthal and Willmannsberg. The remnants of the aristocratic rule were eliminated in the revolution of 1848 . In 1945/46 the previously independent municipality of Pfaffenfang ( Roding district ) was incorporated into Altenthann ( Regensburg district ).

As of March 23, 1913 (Easter), Pfaffenfang belonged to the parish of Altenthann and had 20 houses and 112 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990 Pfaffenfang had 120 inhabitants and continued to belong to the parish Altenthann.
