history

In 1366 Adlmannstein was first mentioned as Veste Adlmannshof when it was sold by Hector the Lichtenberger to Peter the Chamerauer von Haitzenstein. Johann von Steinach von Adelmannstein was mentioned in 1370. Hans der Steinacher was the owner of Adelmannstein from 1372 to 1391, which passed to the Hofers in 1394. In 1465 Adlmannstein belonged to Parzifal Zenger, a son of Erhard Zenger von Lichtenwald. Adlmannstein remained in the possession of the Zenger until 1576. In 1590 it was sold together with Lichtenwald to Erhard von Muggenthal zu Hexenacker and remained in the possession of the Muggenthal family until 1669.

During the Thirty Years War , Adlmannstein was so destroyed between 1636 and 1638 that it was deserted and uninhabited afterwards. It was sold in 1669 to the Palatinate-Neuburg Council and caretaker David Stich, who tacitly assumed rule over the associated single-layer subjects. However, the rulership rights were withdrawn from him by the regional court in 1671 because he was not able to exercise noblemen's freedom.

In 1710 Franz Martin von Stich sold Adlmannstein to Baron von Schütz and Knorr von Rosenroth, who gave it to the Regensburg Order of the Teutonic Order . The estate of the commander was secularized between 1803 and 1809.

In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipal edict of 1818 created today's municipalities, including Bernhardswald and Adlmannstein. On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Adlmannstein was incorporated into the municipality of Bernhardswald.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter) part of Adlmannstein belonged to the parish Altenthann with 8 houses and 45 inhabitants, another part belonged to the parish Wenzenbach with 23 houses and 116 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990 Adlmannstein had 131 Catholic residents and belonged to the Bernhardswald parish.
