Wolfersdorf is a part of the municipality Bernhardswald in the district of Regensburg in Bavaria .

Geographical location

Wolfersdorf is located in the northern district of Regensburg, approx. 22 km from the city center of Regensburg and 7 km from the center of Bernhardswald.

history

According to the namesake Ernst Schwarz, Wolfersdorf is derived from the name of the knight Waltfrid and was once called Waltfridesdorf. But there is also a report of a Wolfhartesdorf. Since there is no clear evidence as to which of these places is the origin of today's Wolfersdorf, there are two possible first documented mentions, 1137 and 1143. In 1621 there were 8 farmers in Wolfersdorf. In 1632 Wolfersdorf was plundered during the Thirty Years' War .

The Bavarian original cadastre names Wolfersdorf in the 1810s as a place with 15 hearths, four ponds , four wells and the path chapel at the eastern exit of the village. In 1840 it was described in the property tax register of the tax community that Wolfersdorf consisted of the estate of Count Drechsel, 14 landowners with a house and a landlord "on the Mauth". At that time, a total of 21 families with 92 people lived in Wolfersdorf. The former estate of Graf Drechsel is currently the Gut Wolfersdorf stud. 71 people currently have their primary residence in Wolfersdorf (as of May 31, 2020).
