history

The castle Hackenberg is believed to have originated the Bavarian Forest of the 12th century in the second half in the clearing area of the Near. But only for the years 1440 and 1460 is Hackenberg documented as a fortress or as Hackenberg Castle on the occasion of a change of ownership. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipal edict of 1818 created today's municipalities, including Bernhardswald and Hackenberg. In addition, a second class patrimonial court was formed in Hackenberg , which from 1831 on the barons v. Schwerin was assigned. However, the Patrimonial Court was administered by the Regenstauf Regional Court. The last privileges of the nobility were abolished in the revolution of 1848 . In 1867 the community of Hackenberg was assigned to the district court of Nittenau and was again in the district court of Regenstauf in 1880 . On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Hackenberg was incorporated into the municipality of Bernhardswald.
