The Regenstauf District Court was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1959 and was based in Regenstauf in the Upper Palatinate .

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court in Regenstauf was set up, the district of which was from the district of the previous Regenstauf district court with the communities of Bernhardswald , Bubach am Forst , Buchenlohe , Thesebach , Eitlbrunn , Grafenwinn , Grünthal , Hainsacker , Hauzenstein , Heilinghausen , Heitzenhofen , Hirschling , Karlstein , Kürn , Loch , Pettendorf , Pielenhofen , Ponholz , Ramspau , Regendorf , Regenstauf, Schneitweg , Schönberg , Schönleiten , Steinsberg , Wolfsegg and Zeitlarn as well as from the municipalities of Hackenberg , Hauzendorf from the disbanded regional court district of Nittenau , Lambertsneukirchen and Pettenreuth was formed. The superordinate instances were the Regional Court of Regensburg and the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg .

From April 1, 1951 to July 1, 1954, the municipality of Wulkersdorf also belonged to the Regenstauf district court.

After the Regenstauf District Court was downgraded to a branch of the Regensburg District Court towards the end of the Second World War and this was confirmed again in 1956, this branch was dissolved on July 1, 1959.

Courthouse

The court was located in a three-storey, gable roof building at Hauptstrasse 34, which was built in 1785 in place of the Lower Castle , which was destroyed in a fire in 1781 . The building, which today serves as the town's cultural center, is a listed building.
