The place is in the open, about 4 km west of Regenstauf. From the second half of the 20th century, an extensive settlement area in the southwest joined the Altort.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document as Atelprunne in 1340. The community Eitlbrunn came into being with the Bavarian community edict of 1818. It comprised the places Eitlbrunn, Eichlberg, Epfenthau (Epfendau), Ferneichlberg, Fronau, Hochstraß, Kleeberg, Kohlstatt (Kohlstätten), Kühthal, Lindach, Schanzlohe, Süssberg and Wieden. Eitlbrunn had a Sankt-Jakobs-Kirche since the 14th century. The Expositurkirche St. Jakob, which existed until the 1950s , was essentially from the 17th century. The old church was demolished for the construction of the St. Michael Church , which was built in 1959 . Today, Eitlbrunn is the seat of a parish curate .
