The Czechoslovakia took part in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome with a delegation of 116 athletes (99 men and 17 women) in 75 competitions in 13 sports part.

The Czechoslovakian athletes won three gold, two silver and three bronze medals, with which Czechoslovakia took tenth place in the medal table. Olympic champions were the boxer Bohumil Němeček in the light welterweight division, the gymnast Eva Bosáková on the balance beam and the rowers Václav Kozák and Pavel Schmidt in double twos. Silver went to Dana Zátopková in the javelin throw and the women's gymnastics team. The bronze medals were won by the wrestler Bohumil Kubát in the heavyweight division of the Greco-Roman style, the boxer Josef Němec in the heavyweight division and the rowing eight with helmsman. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the wrestler Jiří Kormaník .
