Colombia took part in the 1960 Summer Olympics in the Italian capital Rome with a delegation of 16 male athletes in 13 competitions in five sports.

Since 1932 it was the fifth time Colombia had participated in the Summer Olympics .

The youngest athlete at 19 years and 334 days was the diver Federico Andrade , the oldest athlete was the marksman José María Vallsera (41 years and 76 days).

Flag bearer

The fencer Emilio Echeverri carried the flag of Colombia during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .
