Bennet Poniewaz (born July 6, 1993 in Ostercappeln ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career indoor volleyball

Bennet Poniewaz played in his youth with his twin brother David at VfL Lintorf , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2010 . After relegation in Lintorf, the brothers switched to the second division club VT Kiel in 2011 , which joined the Kiel MTV in 2012 as KMTV Eagles . The twins have been playing for second division club FC Schüttorf 09 since 2018 .

Career beach volleyball

Bennet Poniewaz has been playing beach volleyball alongside his brother David since 2008. The brothers became German U18 runner-up in Bitterfeld-Wolfen in 2010 and German U19 champions in Kiel in 2011 . They have been playing at national tournaments since 2012 and at international tournaments since 2013. In 2013 they also took part in the German championships in Timmendorfer Strand for the first time. In 2014/2015 the twins were part of the German national team and reached the semi-finals at the U23 World Cup in Mysłowice, Poland . In October 2015 they reached the podium at an FIVB tournament for the first time at the Puerto Vallarta Open in Mexico with third place. In 2016 Bennet Poniewaz not only played on the side of his brother, but also u. a. with Alexander Walkenhorst and Armin Dollinger . The Poniewaz twins finished fourth in the German championship . Poniewaz celebrated his greatest success to date at the side of his twin brother by winning the German championship in 2019.
