Romania took part in the 1960 Summer Olympics in the Italian capital, Rome, with a delegation of 98 athletes.

Flag bearer

The athlete Alexandru Bizim carried the flag of Romania during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .

With three won gold, one silver and six bronze medals, the Romanian team was ranked 11 in the medal count .
