Indonesia took part in the 1960 Summer Olympics in the Italian capital, Rome, with a delegation of 22 athletes, twenty men and two women, in 17 competitions in eight sports.

The youngest athlete was the swimmer Zakaria Nasution (16 years and 108 days), the oldest athlete was the sailor Lie Eng Soei (43 years and 107 days). It was the country’s third Summer Olympics participation .
