The Republic of China (Taiwan) participated in the 1960 Summer Olympics in the Italian capital Rome with 27 athletes, 24 men and three women, in 18 competitions in six sports.

After the 1956 Summer Olympics , it was Taiwan's second participation in the Summer Olympics .

The youngest athlete was sprinter Chi Cheng at 16 years and 170 days , the oldest athlete was shooter Wang Ching-Rui (38 years and 202 days).
