The Republic of China ( Chinese Taipei ) took part in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich with a delegation of 21 athletes (fifteen men and six women) in 41 competitions in ten sports. No medal could be won. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the 1968 athlete and medalist Chi Cheng .
