Jamaica took part in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich with a delegation of 33 athletes (21 men and 12 women). These competed in six sports in 27 competitions. The athlete Lennox Miller was selected as the flag bearer for the opening ceremony and was then the only athlete to win a medal for his country at these games.
