Leighton Priestley

Leighton Priestley (born January 18, 1951 ) is a former Jamaican sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

In 1970 he retired from the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh over 400 m in the semifinals and was fifth in the 4 x 400 meters relay . The following year he won silver at the Pan American Games in Cali in 1971 with the Jamaican 4-by-400-meter relay.

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he reached the quarter-finals over 400 m , setting his personal best with 45.75 s in the run-up, and was eliminated in the 4-by-400-meter relay in the run-up.

In 1976 he reached the quarter-finals again at the Olympic Games in Montreal over 400 m and came in fifth place in the 4-by-400-meter relay .
