Andrea Bruce

Andrea Maureen Bruce (born July 10, 1955 in Saint Elizabeth Parish ) is a former Jamaican high jumper , long jumper , hurdler and pentathlete .

In 1971 she won silver in the high jump at the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships and bronze at the Pan American Games in Cali . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, she was ninth in the same discipline.

In 1973 she won the Central American and Caribbean Championships in the high jump and took silver in the 100 m hurdles . In 1975 she defended her high jump title at the Central American and Caribbean Championships and won the long jump. Bronze medals in high jump and pentathlon followed at the Pan American Games in Mexico City .

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she came in 15th place in the pentathlon.

In 1974 she became US champion in the 400 m hurdles .
