The Republic of China took part under the name Chinese Taipei in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, USA, with a delegation of six male athletes in two disciplines. None of the athletes managed to win a medal.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the luge Lin Chui-bin .
