Georgia took part in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, USA, with four athletes who competed in three disciplines.

It was Georgia’s third participation in the Winter Olympics .

Flag bearer

The skier and only female athlete, Sofia Akhmeteli , carried the flag of Georgia during the opening ceremony at the Rice-Eccles Stadium .
