Georgia took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with 34 athletes, 7 women and 27 men, in 39 competitions in 13 sports.

It was Georgia's first participation in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

Boxer Giorgi Kandelaki carried the flag of Georgia during the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .
