Armenia took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with 32 athletes, two women and thirty men, in 36 competitions in eleven sports.
It was Armenia's first participation in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
Weightlifter Aghwan Grigoryan carried the flag of Armenia during the opening ceremony on July 19 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .

Each with a recovered gold and silver medal Armenian team finished 45th in the medals table .
