Ecuador took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta for the ninth time in the Summer Olympics. The team consisted of 19 athletes, 17 of whom were male and two were female. They started in 18 competitions in seven sports. During the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996, the swimmer Felipe Delgado carried the flag of Ecuador into the Olympic Stadium.
