The British Virgin Islands took part in the Olympic Games for the fourth time at the 1996 Summer Olympics . The team consisted of seven athletes who were all men. They started in five competitions in two sports. The youngest participant was the track and field athlete Steve Augustine at 19 years and 145 days, the oldest was Willis Todman , who also started in athletics, at 30 years and 201 days. The flag of the British Virgin Islands was carried into the Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996 by the athlete Keita Cline , who four years later was again the flag bearer.
