Lesotho took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with nine athletes, four women and five men, in five competitions in one sport.
Since 1972 it was Lesotho's sixth participation in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
The Chef de mission , Jessie Mathunta, carried the Lesotho flag during the opening ceremony on July 19th at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .
